Acting Chairman Tuttle called the meeting to order at 10:00 A.M.
Commissioner Prante was also present. Former Chairman Abe Young had
resigned as of December 31, 1984.
Amendments to Chairman Tuttle read aloud the amendments.
the Agenda There were no additions or changes. He noted that
there was no hearing on the Empire Blvd. They did
not have enough information back for the Economic
Development Administration. This will be delayed
for another 30 to 45 days.
Award of Bid Neil Hudson, Director of Public Works, was present
for Front End to discuss the bids received. He refered to his
Wheel Loaders memo on this. The only bid received was from Pape'
Bros. Inc. in the amount of $16,000 for seven
years, or 7000 hours. After that,,the County has
the option to keep the equipment,'lor return it for
the guaranteed minimum purchase`price agreed upon.
The actual bid is for $126,300, less the trade in
for the old County equipment, which amounts to a
cost of $86,300. After the guaranteed minimum
purchase price (after seven years or 7000 hours),
the net cost is $16,000.
MOTION: PRANTE moved to award the bid to Pape'
for $86,300.
TUTTLE: Second.
VOTE: UNANIMOUS APPROVAL.
Award of Bid The low bid was received from Central Oregon Pavers
for Crushed at $6.80 per ton, for a total of $57,800. This is
Rock to� be awarded at the unit price, in case the amount
actually obtained is not exactly 8500 tons.
MOTION: PRANTE moved to award the bid to Central
Oregon Pavers for $6.80 per ton.
TUTTLE: Second.
VOTE: UNANIMOUS APPROVAL.
Award of Bid Bids were opened on December 18. Two bids were
for Front End received. The low bidder was Hessel Tractor and
Track Loader Equipment Co. in the amount of $107,583.
MOTION: PRANTE so moved that they sign the
bid to Hessel Tractor for $107,583.
TUTTLE: Second.
VOTE: UNANIMOUS APPROVAL.
Appointment to Before the Board was a letter from Mahlon Rohrbach,
Special Road District Secretary, requesting the appointment of
District No. 6 William Porter.

Lynn Stonelake, Health Department Director, was

Crippled Childrens Division (CCD) is piloting in

three counties this year, and hope to spread
statewide, to identify children with correctable
defects very early. This will involve one day per
week of a public health nurse's time that CCD will
pay. They will.add one day per week for the child
health nursing staff. Two and a half years of
Deschutes County participation is assured. The
County Health Department is doing a lot of this
work now.
MOTION: PRANTE so moved to sign the contract.
TUTTLE: Second.
VOTE: UNANIMOUS APPROVAL.
Corrective Lease This has been previously discussed in draft form.
Assignment and Today the original document is before them for
Consent/ Howell signature. Chairman Tuttle called for a motion to
Lease sign.
MOTION: PRANTE so moved.
TUTTLE: Second.
VOTE: UNANIMOUS APPROVAL.
