BEFORE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DESCHUTES COUNTY, OREGON A Resolution Requesting the Oregon State Speed Control Board to Review the Speed on Knott Road From China Hat * Road to Fifteenth Street in Deschutes County, Oregon, and * Set the Speed At or Below 45 Miles Per Hour. RESOLUTION NO. 85 -008 WHEREAS, Deschutes County requested the Oregon State Speed Control Board to investigate the speed on Knott Road from China Hat Road to Fifteenth Street; and WHEREAS, the State Speed Control Board, pursuant to their investigation, determined that 55 mile per hour maximum (basic speed rule under 55) speed zone on this section of Knott Road be continued as the designated speed for that portion of Knott Road; and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners is concerned that the Oregon State Speed Control Board may have failed to take into consideration the residential nature, the rolling terrain and curvilineal alignment of the subject portion of Knott Road, and the number of school bus stops along this section of roadway; and WHEREAS, this section of roadway has experienced increased vehicular traffic since the date of the investigation, December 17, 1982; and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has determined that it is in the public's interest to reexamine the speed on this section of the roadway; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DESCHUTES COUNTY, OREGON, as follows: Section 1. That the Oregon State Speed Control Board commence forthwith an investigation of the speed on Knott Road from China Hat Road to Fifteenth Street in Deschutes County, Oregon. Section 2. That the Oregon State Speed Control Board set a speed for this portion of Knott Road not to exceed 45 miles per hour based on the Engineer's Report, the increased traffic, and school bus stops on this section of road. 1 - RESOLUTION NO. 85 -008 DATED this day of VOL 62 FACE 872 , 1985.
