MOTION: MAUDLIN moved that the application
for Concep Membranes, Inc. be sent
into the Intergovernmental Rela-
tions Division for the funding.
PRANTE: Second.
Mike Burton stated that Concep Membranes
Company, which was formed last year by
John Freeman and Bend Research, primariily
develops and markets the products created by
Bend Research. The important consideration
in applying for the grant is the development
of diversity. Concep is a firm which is
preeminent in their field of plastic filming
to filter a variety of materials, something
that does not exist in Central Oregon. If
the loan were to be made, Concep would create
at least 44 new jobs, 64% of which would be
available for low or moderate income persons,
which would also have significant impact on
the community.
