SUBJECT: Expenditure of Road Funds on Local Access Road
Pursuant to O.R.S. 368.031, the County governing body may spend County
moneys on local access roads if it is determined that the work is an
emergency and the County road official recommends the expenditure.
During a recent rain storm, a portion of East Campbell Road had several
washouts along the steep portion of the road. Part of the problem was
caused by runoff from our County Road West Ridge Avenue. These washouts
are a foot deep and extend along the road from the centerline to the
south edge, which presents a hazard to the downhill traffic and needs
to be corrected.
It is recommended by the department that an expenditure of approximately
two to three thousand dollars be spent to attempt to alleviate this
drainage problem. Material will be placed in the washouts and the road.
Also, we need to place a catch basin on our road to intercept part of
the water.
