operation at the Fryrear and Southwest landfills.
Mike Miller, Solid Waste Manager, asked the Commissioners if
they had any questions regarding the report submitted by his
department.
Commissioner Maudlin stated that he has no objections to
this proposal, but he believes that the public should be
given the chance to comment on these changes and that the
changes be posted at the landfills.
Chair Prante suggested that the changes be published in the
local papers.
Chair Prante and Commissioner Maudlin gave their approval.
Other Staff/Public Concerns
Mike Maier stated that there has been a request for the
Board to consider having the day after Thanksgiving as a
holiday in lieu of Veteran's day. He stated that having a
holiday during the week is confusing for the public. He
further stated that Helen Rastovich has had to pay people
time and a half to keep her office open so that people can

come in to pay their taxes.
Karen Green stated that there may be a problem if Veteran's
day is a mandated holiday.
Mike Maier recommends that if this is possible we should do
it. He also stated that there is more activity on Veteran's
day than there is on the day after Thanksgiving.
Chair Prante gave the board's approval contingent upon the
legal ramifications.
The meeting was adjourned.
