DESCHUTES COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
REGULAR MEETING DECEMBER 31, 1986
RECONVENED FROM EXECUTIVE SESSION
Commissioner Tuttle called the meeting to order at 11:25 a.m.
Commissioner Maudlin was in attendance. Rick Isham, Legal
Counsel, was also present. Chair Prante was absent.
Rick Isham explained the content of the offer for the Bend
Hardware building. The contract for the sale of the property
dated December 31, 1986 would provide for a purchase price of
$200,000. The seller and the buyer would split up to the
seller's obligation of $8,150. Because the property is being
purchased through a lease purchase arrangement with the title
vesting in a third party trust deed, the minimum acceptable
appraisal amount, which is a condition of the contract, would be
$240,000. The contract also provides for the seller to cure any
encroachments that may appear as a result of the survey, and for
the buyer to obtain an unqualified opinion from a nationally
recognized bond counsel regarding the regularity of the
financing.
