,,Chair Prante called the meeting to order at 10:05 a.m. Board
members in attendance were Lois Bristow Prante, Dick Maudlin, and
Tom Throop. Also present were Rick Isham, County Legal Counsel,
Karen Green, Assistant Legal Counsel, and Craig Smith, Planning
Director.
1. SHIFT OF DYNATRON FUNDS
This item was postponed for one week.
2. APPOINTMENTS TO THE LIBRARY BOARD
Before the Board were appointments of Julia Ann James and
Michael Ciesielski to Deschutes County Library Board of
Trustees.
MAUDLIN: I move appointment of Julia James and Michael
Ciesielski toi the Library Board.
PRANTE: Second.
VOTE: MAUDLIN: YES

3. APPOINTMENT TO SPECIAL ROAD DISTRICT #1
PRANTE: We have before us a possible appointment of
Phillip Peer to the Board of Directors for Special Road
District #1. I will entertain a motion to appoint.

4. ORDER NO. 87-073. REFUNDING TAXES
PRANTE: We have before us an order to refund taxes in the
amount of $8.60. 1 will entertain a motion to sign.

5. TEMPORARY USE PERMIT
Before the Board was chair signature of a temporary use
permit to allow initiation of construction of a nonfarm
dwelling in a farm zone while a conditional use permit is
pending.

6. RESOLUTION NO. 87-056
Before the Board was a resolution relating to the federal
motor fuel tax. The resolution stated opposition to an
increase in the federal motor fuel taxes unless the proceeds
of the increase were used exclusively for highway, bridge,
and transit purposes.
PRANTE: I will entertain a motion to sign this resolution.
THROOP: I will make that motion.
MAUDLIN: Second.

7. WEEKLY WARRANT VOUCHERS
Total amount of weekly bills was $137,891.93.
MAUDLIN: I move approval of the weekly warrant vouchers
subject to review.

8. DLCD MAINTENANCE GRANT AGREEMENT
Before the Board was chair signature of an agreement with
the Department of Land Conservation and Development for
Deschutes County to perform plan maintenance activities.
PRANTE: I will entertain a motion for chair signature of
the agreement.

9. Commissioner Throop announced that the members for the
Deschutes River Enhancement and Mitigation Committee had
been selected, and possible appointments would be coming
before the Board next week.
