1988-10777-Resolution No. 88-032 Recorded 5/19/1988REVIEWED 88- 10777 • LEGAL COUNSEL BEFORE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DESCHUTS LUui'r , u Jut,N A Resolution Designating * the Deschutes County Juvenile Justice Center * As a Youth Care Center. * RESOLUTION NO. 88 -032 88 HAY 19 PH t : 57 LER,i 0090 -1442 WHEREAS, the Deschutes County Juvenile Department wishes to provide a residential care and rehabilitation program for juven- ile sex offenders, utilizing the detention facility in the Juvenile Justice Center; and WHEREAS, the Juvenile Department may provide residential care and rehabilitation for such youth in the detention facility only if such facility is also a "youth care center" under ORS 420.855 to 420.885; and WHEREAS, ORS 420.855 to 420.885 authorize the Board of County Commissioners to designate a juvenile detention facility as a combined detention facility and youth care center if the detention facility meets certain standards set forth in those statutes and is approved by the Oregon Children's Services Division; and WHEREAS, the Children's Services Division has approved the detention facility of the Juvenile Justice Center as a youth care facility, as evidenced by the letter of approval attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and incorporated by reference herein; and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners finds that the Juvenile Justice Center complies with all applicable provisions of ORS 420.855 to 420.885; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DESCHUTES COUNTY, OREGON, as follows: Section 1. Based on my personal tour of the facility, dialogue with you regarding the program services and reviewing your written program description, I believe this program meets all requirements found in ORS 420 -870. By way of this letter, I am approving the program as required by statute. We will continue to examine the program at various stages of implementation.
