ORF.(40N BODY OF THE Otbz3-- 1492 SERVICE DISTRICT RESOLUTION NO. 88 -060 WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Deschutes County, Oregon, Acting as the Governing Body of the Deschutes County 911 County Service District, has determined that a tax base should be established as authorized by Article XI, Sec- tion 11, Oregon Constitution, in order to permit the proper operation of District affairs within the limitation contained in Article XI, Section 11, Oregon Constitution; and WHEREAS, it is necessary to submit the question of estabishing a tax base to the legal voters of Deschutes County, Oregon; now, therefore BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DESCHUTES COUNTY, OREGON, as follows: Section 1. Date of Election. The measure set forth in Section 2 of this Resolution shall be submitted in the manner prescribed herein to the legal voters of Deschutes County, Oregon, at a County tax base election to be held November 8, 1988, the statewide general election. 1 - RESOLUTION NO. 88 -060 0091 1493 Section 2. Form of Question. At the County tax base election, there shall be submitted to the legal voters of the District, for their approval or rejection, the following measure: Title: 911 Tax Base. Question: Shall the Deschutes County 911 County Service District establish a tax base of $375,000 beginning July 1, 1989? Explanation: The Deschutes County 911 County Service District does not have a tax base. The 911 District was formed to provide for the operation of 911 emergency communications within Deschutes County. The tax base will provide stable funding for 911 and emergency communication services to the residents of the District. This measure will establish a limitation on ad valorem taxes in accordance with Article XI, Section 11 of the Oregon Constitution. The estimated tax rate of this request is 16 cents per $1,000 of assessed value for the fiscal year 1989 -90. The estimated tax cost for this measure is an ESTIMATE ONLY based on the best information available from the County assessor at the time of the estimate. Section 3. Publication. This measure shall be published by the County Clerk in accordance with ORS 254.205, the facsimile of ballot provisions, and ORS 255.085, notice of district election provisions, and shall constitute the only notice required. Section 4. Filing. Immediately following passage, this Resolution shall be filed with the Deschutes County Clerk. DATED this -r day of August, 1988.
