An Order Finding that Livestock 0095 1480
Owned by Victor and Christie
Campbell was Killed by a Dog,
Establishing the Value of the
Livestock, and Ordering a Warrant
Drawn to Pay Livestock Loss Claim.
ORDER NO. 89-033
WHEREAS, on May 16, 1989, Victor and Christie Campbell filed
a claim, pursuant to ORS 609.170, for the loss of livestock,
namely two lambs, as a result of a dog attack; and
WHEREAS, the Board reviewed and considered the evidence
presented by Victor and Christie Campbell in support of their
livestock loss claim; and
WHEREAS, the Board received and considered additional
evidence submitted by the Jefferson County Extension Office
relating to the value of Victor and Christie Campbell's lambs;
and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners finds that:
1. Two lambs owned by Victor and Christie Campbell were killed
as the result of a dog attack; and
2. Evidence was presented that the two lambs, value as live-
stock was $87.00, based upon a market price of $1.00 per
pound at 40 and 47 pounds; now, therefore,
THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DESCHUTES COUNTY,
OREGON, ORDERS as follows:
Section 1. The livestock loss claim of Victor and Christie
Campbell is allowed in the amount of $87.00.
Section 2. The Deschutes County Treasurer shall issue a
check from the Deschutes County Animal Control Fund made payable
to Victor and Christie Campbell, in the amount of $87.00.
Section 3. Deschutes County Legal Counsel shall take
appropriate action to collect $87.00 from the owner of the dog or
dogs responsible for the attack on the lambs owned Victor and
Christie Campbell.
