Charles Trachsel, Cloverdale Fire Chief and Chair of the 9-1-1 User Board, gave the budget report. He introduced Jana Snowball the new 9-1-1 Director to the Board of Commissioners and the public. He said three appointed lay members from Bend, Sunriver and Redmond, and three Executive Committee members formed the budget committee. The budget was reviewed and approved by the User Board at their April 27 meeting. He said the budget recommended approval of the tax base election last November plus two items: (1) one new full-time dispatch position and (2) a small reserve in the unappropriated ending fund balance and contingency so that some upgrades could be made in the system (computer or personnel) in the future. In response to a question from Commissioner Maudlin, Charles Trachsel stated that the 9-1-1 Service District tax would show up as a separate item on the property tax statements in the future, and that the tax rate would be approximately $.15 per thousand. There was no one from the public wishing to testify. MAUDLIN: I'd move acceptance of the 9-1-1 Service District Draft Budget. THROOP: I'll second the motion.
