1989-15497-Minutes for Meeting June 13,1989 Recorded 6/21/19890095 184'7 89-1549'7 MINUTES DESCHUTES COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIO]kikt- Tuesday, June 13, 1989 SPECIAL MEETING REGARDING DESCHUTES COUNTY JAIL 'Op-ERAT-0ft Chair Prante called the meeting to order. Commissioners in attendance were Dick Maudlin, Lois Bristow Prante, and Tom Throop. Also present were Michael Dugan, District Attorney; Rick Isham, Legal Counsel; Darrell Davidson, Sheriff; and Dennis Maloney, Juvenile Department Director. Before the Board was signature of Resolution 89-038, regarding Deschutes County Jail Operations. The Resolution required the staffing of the jail to include four corrections teams with each team consisting of four correctional officers, and one team on duty at all times in the facility. In addition to the corrections teams, four clerks would be assigned to the facility covering 24- hours a day. Two new transport/booking officers would be assigned to transport duty, court escort and booking functions from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The Resolution also required the population of the jail to be reduced to a maximum of 42 inmates, as well as several medical, policy, and repair requirements. There was extensive discussion regarding the options, alternatives, and ramifications of the Resolution. MAUDLIN: I'll move that we adopt Resolution #89-038 after the discussion.
