Chair Throop opened the meeting at 9:50 a.m. Be,~7ikq et n
attendance were Dick Maudlin, Tom Throop and Lois Bristow°inte.
Also present were Rick Isham, County Counsel; Larry Rice, Public
Works Director; Darrell Davidson, Sheriff; Bruce White Assistant
Legal Counsel; Dave Hoerning, County Engineer; Cynthia Komurka,
Animal Control Officer.
1. RESOLUTION 90-013, ALCOHOL AND DRUG ABUSE AWARENESS MONTH
Before the Board was signature of Resolution 90-013
proclaiming the month of March 1990, as Alcohol and Drug Abuse
Awareness Month in Deschutes County. Mayor Paul Davis
attended the meeting and read a similar proclamation from the
City of Bend. Glenn Bartnick, a teacher at Buckingham
Elementary School, and his 5th grade class attended the Board
meeting to support enactment of these proclamations.

2. ANIMAL CONTROL TASK FORCE REPORT
The Animal Control Task Force representatives Dan Early,
Cynthia Komurka and Bruce White gave their report to the
Board. The Board scheduled an in-depth work session on the
report for Monday, March 12 at 11 a.m.
3. OFFER FOR REAL PROPERTY FOR SISTERS TRANSFER STATION
Before the Board was signature of an offer to Rancho Christie
Corp. to purchase real property on the corner of Highway 20
and Peterson Road for $33,000, subject to County approval of
land use permits and DEQ approval for a solid waste transfer
station and recycling center. The site was being proposed as
a new location for the Sisters Transfer Station.

station.
