WORK SESSION MINUTES
DESCHUTES COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
April 16, 1990
Chair Throop opened the meeting at 10 a.m.90 `clad P2b6is in
attendance were Dick Maudlin, Tom Throop and {L r, a~ ,tow Prante.
Also present were Rick Isham, County Legal Cous~''ice,
Public Works Director; and Paul Blikstad, Planner` ' R
1. TERMINATION OF OFFER TO PURCHASE SITE FOR NW TRANSFER STATION
Larry Rice reported to the Board that he and some other Public
Works staff had a meeting in the Sisters area regarding the
proposed location of a transfer station near the Sisters Rodeo
Grounds. He said those present were unanimous in their
opinion that the proposed site was not acceptable to the
community, and they felt the existing Fryrear landfill site
owned by the County would be the logical location for the
transfer facility.
PRANTE: I would move that we would abandon the Northwest
Transfer Station project and remain at the Fryrear
Site and proceed with the land use action.

2. AMENDMENT TO INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH CSD
Before the Board was signature of an amendment to the
Intergovernmental Agreement with the Children's Services
Division, Deschutes County Mental Health Services, and
Deschutes County Health Department extending the contract term
from April 16, 1990 to June 30, 1990.
