Make an Exchange of Real Property *
With the United States of America, *
Acting by and through the Forest *
Service, U. S. Department of
Agriculture, Setting a Time and
Place for Hearing Objections
Thereto and Providing Notice.

WHEREAS, ORS 275.100 provides that the Board of County
Commissioner declare its intention to exchange land by proper
resolution; and
WHEREAS, a hearing shall be held for the purpose of receiv-
ing objections to the proposed exchange of land; and
WHEREAS, Deschutes County intends to exchange land with the
United States of America; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
DESCHUTES COUNTY, OREGON, as follows:
Section 1. That Deschutes County intends to transfer the
real property described as:
The Southwest Quarter (SW 1/4) of the Northeast Quarter
(NE 1/4) of Section 22, Township 19 South, Range 11
E.W.M., Deschutes County, Oregon, containing 40 acres,
more or less.
The land to be transferred by the United States of America, is
described as follows:
The Northwest Quarter (NW 1/4) of the Southwest Quarter
(SW 1/4) of Section 5, Township 21 South, Range 11,
E.W.M., Deschutes County, Oregon, containing 40 acres,
more or less.
Section 2. A hearing for the purpose of receiving objec-
tions to the above land trade will be held at 10:00 a.m. on
Wednesday January 30, 1991, at the Deschutes County Juvenile
Justice Building, Bend.
Section 3. That the Clerk of the County Court shall give
notice of the time and place for the hearing set in Section 2 of
this Resolution by publication of the notice marked Exhibit "A,"
attached hereto and by this reference incorporated herein, in

"The Bulletin" once each week for four consecutive weeks prior to
the date of such hearing.

EXHIBIT "A"
On Wednesday, January 30, 1991, at 10:00 a.m. in the
Deschutes County Juvenile Justice Building, Bend, the Board of
County Commissioners of Deschutes County, Oregon, will hold a
hearing on a land exchange between Deschutes County and the
United States of America, acting by and through the Forest Ser-
vice, U. S. Department of Agriculture. The land to be trans-
ferred by Deschutes County is described as follows:
The Southwest Quarter (SW 1/4) of the Northeast Quarter
(NE 1/4) of Section 22, Township 19 South, Range 11
E.W.M., Deschutes County, Oregon, containing 40 acres,
more or less.
The land to be transferred by the United States of America is
described as follows:
The Northwest Quarter (NW 1/4) of the Southwest Quarter
(SW 1/4) of Section 5, Township 21 South, Range 11,
E.W.M., Deschutes County, Oregon, containing 40 acres,
more or less.
The property being transferred by Deschutes County consists
of approximately 40 acres located roughly one and one -half miles
due west of Lava Butte, within Newberry Crater National Monument.
The property being transferred to Deschutes County consists
of approximately 40 acres located on the east side of U. S.
Highway 97, approximately one mile north of the LaPine State
Recreation Park Road.
Any person may appear and make objections to the proposed
exchange.
