WHEREAS, the Oregon Indoor Clean Air Act provides that smoking
is prohibited in a public place except in designated areas; and
WHEREAS, the Justice Building and ESD Building are a public
places; and
WHEREAS, smoking is prohibited in the Justice Building and ESD
Building in accordance with the Oregon Indoor Clean Air Act except
as otherwise provided in this resolution; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
DESCHUTES COUNTY, OREGON, as follows:
Section 1. That no persons shall smoke or carry any lighted
smoking instrument in the Deschutes County Justice Building except
in the following rooms of the Deschutes County Administrative
Offices known as the interview room, sheriff's office,
under - sheriff's office, and command office.
Section 2. That the ESD Building be designated a non - smoking
building.
Section 3. That signs in accordance with the Oregon Indoor
Clean Air Act be posted in the Justice Building and ESD Building
reflecting the designations set forth in this resolution.
Section 4. Any receptacles, ashtrays or similar devices
located in non - smoking areas shall be removed from those portions
of the premises forthwith.
