WHEREAS, 27th Street is now the official name for what was
formerly Denser Road within the Bend Urban Area.
WHEREAS, Section 19.84.010 of the Deschutes County Code
concerning setbacks from certain arterials within the Bend Urban Area
refers to certain arterials by street names that have subsequently
been officially changed;
WHEREAS, it is desirable that the references to specific
arterials in Section 19.84.010 reflect their current officially
designated street names;
WHEREAS, the Bend Urban Area Planning Commission, after notice
given and hearing conducted in accordance with applicable law, has
recommended approval of proposed text amendments to Section 19.84.010,
as set forth herein, that would make the desired changes; now,
therefore,
THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DESCHUTES COUNTY, OREGON,
ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 19.84.010 of Title 19 of the Deschutes
County Code is amended as follows:
19.84.010. Future Width and Special Building Lines
Future Width and Special Building Lines - Purpose and
Designation of Streets. Because of heavy or arterial traffic volume
and congestion, existing or probable intensive or commercial
development of abutting properties, substandard paving widths, the
probability of inadequate sight distances and other like conditions
affecting traffic safety and light, air and vision along streets, the
City Commission finds that the public health, safety and welfare
require that building setback lines, as hereinafter specified be, and
they hereby are established on all properties abutting the following
named streets and sections of streets. Where applicable, requirements
set forth in this provision shall be in a((dVdition to the yard

and at right angles to the centerline of the street.
