Larry Rice, Public Works Director; Rick Isham, County Counsel;
George Read, Planning Director; Frank Moore, Mental Health

Director; Bruce White, Assistant County Counsel,
Data Processing Manager.
1. REGIONAL WORKFORCE QUALITY COMMITTEE
Before the Board was a request from Tom Wiedeman, ESD R that as
Coordinator for Professional Technical Education,
representative from the Board be selected to participate in
the Regional Workforce Quality Council as directed in HB 3133.
The Board asked Commissioner Schlangen to serve on this
committee for the first year beginning July 1, 1992.
2. AUTHORIZATION TO COMPLETE PURCHASE OF NEW JAIL SITE
was the decision whether to close the

transaction on the purchase of a site for the new pointed
Highway 20 across from Mountain View Mall. Rick Isham p
out that before the Board closed this transaction, they needed
to determine that the conditions of the ernest money agreement
had been met to their satisfaction. Rick Isham said each of
the eight conditions had been addressed with professional
service, and all conditions been met. George Read said the
Planning Commission had recommended unanimously that the Board
proceed with a text amendment to the zoning ordinance to allow
public buildings as a outright permitted use in the IL zone
and define public buildings as including correctional
facilities. The Board would need to hold public hearings on
the text amendments to the zoning ordinance and on the site
plan.
