ORDINANCE 93-041 1 DESCHUTE.'i-�NTY, OREGOi3 --- 012'0"1"2117 WHEREAS, the State of Oregon 1993 Edition One and Two Family Dwelling Specialty Code was recently amended to require wildfire hazard mitigation regulations in certain areas of the state designated in accordance with the criteria established by the Oregon Department of Forestry; and WHEREAS, the Oregon Department of Forestry has determined that certain areas in Deschutes County are wildfire hazard zones and has recommended their designation as such; and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has determined that those areas recommended by the Oregon Department of Forestry for wildfire hazard designation have special hazards caused by a combination of combustible natural fuels, topography and climatic conditions that result in a significant hazard of catastrophic fire over relatively long periods each year; and WHEREAS, the Board determines that it is in the public's interest to implement such wildfire hazard mitigation measures in the areas of Deschutes County recommended for designation as wildfire hazard areas by the Department of Forestry; now, therefore, THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DESCHUTES COUNTY, OREGON, ORDAINS as follows: Section 1. A new section 15.04.037, "Wildfire Hazard Designation," is adopted to read as follows: "15.04.037 Wildfire Hazard Designation. Wildfire hazard mitigation regulations set forth under Section R-221 of the State of Oregon 1993 Edition One and Two Family Dwelling Specialty Code, as adopted by Deschutes County, shall be effective in those areas designated as wildfire hazard areas on a map labelled 'Deschutes County 1991 - Wildfire Hazard on Areas Subject to Development Protected by the Oregon Department of Forestry' adopted by the Board of County Commissioners by Ordinance 93-041 and on file with the County Clerk's Office." 1 - ORDINANCE NO. 93-041 (7/14/93) K EHEC �,,AICROFILMED ;,111993 AUG i ? 1993 P 0127-0148 Section 2.
