1993-40253-Resolution No. 93-107 Recorded 11/4/1993REVIEWED BEFORE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DESCHUTES('OLMMEK WR — A Resolution Forming a Region for the * 0128-0406 1993-95 Regional Strategies Program. 1`4 .S RESOLUTION NO. 93-107 {SLC`4' Psi WHEREAS, the Regional Strategies Program was established by the Godo& or and the Oregon Legislature to assist economic development throughout Oregon; and WHEREAS, the Regional Strategies Program requires groups of counties to choose two to three key industries as the focus of their regional economic development strategy under the Regional Strategies Program; and WHEREAS, the Regional Strategies Program requires county governing bodies to oversee the development of strategies and two-year action plans; and WHEREAS, the Regional Strategies Program requires each group of counties to appoint a regional board to develop, fund, implement, and monitor the achievement of the strategies, goals, and two-year action plan; and WHEREAS, the Regional Strategies Program requires that each group of counties submit strategies and a two-year contiguous action plan for review and approval by the State by June 1, 1994; and WHEREAS, the Central Oregon counties of Crook, Deschutes, and Jefferson have many mutual interests in the economic development of their counties; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DESCHUTES COUNTY, OREGON, as follows: Section 1. That Deschutes County hereby agrees to join with Crook and Jefferson Counties to form a region for the purpose of implementing the 1993-95 Regional Strategies program and agrees to enter into an agreement, when it is sufficiently developed to be acceptable with all three counties, that establishes a regional board and defines a process for developing strategies and a two-year action plan to be submitted to the State by June 1, 1994.
