Chair Nancy Pope Schlangen called the meeting to order at'":,10:07
a.m. Board of Commissioners in attendance were Nancy Pope
Schlangen, Tom Throop, and Barry Slaughter. Also in attendance
were Rick Isham, County Counsel; Brad Chalfant, Property Manager;
Mike Maier, County Administrator; Sue Stoneman, Support Services
Manager; and Stacy Warren, Planner.
1. _SIGNATURE OF MYLAR FOR A PARTITION DIVIDING LOT 3, BLOCK 1,
BUSINESS PARK 1, INTO TWO PARCELS IN SUNRIVER FOR WILLARD
HERTZBERG
Before the Board was signature of a mylar for,a'partition
dividing Lot 3, Block 1, Business Park 1, into two parcels in
Sunriver for Willard Hertzberg.

PROPERTY TAX EXEMPTION AND SIGNATURE OF LETTER TO THE SCHOOL
DISTRICT
Before the Board was signature of Ordinance No. 94-017,
granting low-income housing property tax exemption and
signature of a letter the Bend/La Pine School District.
Rick Isham reported this was a tax exemption beginning July 1,
1994, for the Bill Healy Family Housing Center. The letter to
the school district requests they also exempt the Bill Healy
Center from taxes .K °

PERPETUITY AS "TRY AMERICAN DAY"
Before the Board was signature of Resolution No. 94-020,
designating Labor Day in perpetuity as "Try American Day".
Chair Schlangen explained this was a joint resolution in
support of America by trying American products first.

5. APPROVAL OF WEEKLY ACCOUNTS PAYABLE VOUCHERS

EXECUTION AND DELIVERY OF A LEASE/PURCHASE AGREEMENT AND
ESCROW DEPOSIT AGREEMENT
Before the Board was signature of Resolution No. 94-024,
providing for the execution and delivery of a lease/purchase
agreement and escrow deposit agreement, authorizing the sale
of Certificates of Participation.
Mike Maier reported this was the lease/purchase agreement on
the Unger Clinic. He explained he was in the process of
working with Seattle Northwest on the issuance of Certificates
of Participation in the principal amount of not more than
$360,000 for the purchase of that facility.

Before the Board was signature of an environmental review
contract with Environmental Consulting & Investigation for the
Unger Building in the amount of $1,500.

10. SIGNATURE OF RESOLUTION NO. 94-021, DECLARING THE INTENT TO
EXCHANGE REAL PROPERTY WITH BEND MILLWORKS SYSTEMS, INC. AND
SETTING A HEARING
Before the Board was signature of Resolution No. 94-021,
declaring the intent to exchange real property with Bend
Millworks Systems, Inc. and setting a hearing.
Brad Chalfant reported this was an exchange to acquire a road
right-of-way for the 4th Street extension into Butler Market
Road. The hearing is scheduled for April 20, 1994.
