Chair Schlan en called the meeting to order at 2 Board

members present were Nancy Pope Schlangen and Barry H. S44iighter.
Also present were Michael A. Maier, County Administrator;- ick
Isham, County Counsel; and Dave Leslie, Planner.
Before the Board was a discussion by Mike Maier on the proposed
Time Management program. He stated that his memo to Deschutes
County Department Heads dated December 19 had been reviewed and
many suggestions had been made by various employees. He presented
a modified Time Management Program memo which had been prepared on
this day (this memo was dated in error as December 22 however the
typing error was noted during this meeting and brought to the
attention of all present that it should actually say December 21).
Mr. Maier outlined the memo discussing various modifications from
the original memo dated December 19.
Discussions followed for each of the modifications and how they
would be implemented. Mike Maier noted that the program would be
voluntary for current employees. Implementation of the plan will
be April 1, 1995 in order to give ample time to thoroughly explain
the program to all employees. After agreement, Commissioner
- Slaughter moved approval.
SLAUGHTER: I move approval of the Proposed Time Management
system dated December 21 or 22, 1994; to implement
persuant to the April 1 deadline as shown on the
memo.
SCHLANGEN: Second.

It was determined that the commission would send out a cover letter
with the modified document the following day.
