A Resolution Declaring
February 17, 1995 Bob Shotwell
Day, and Recognizing the
Contributions of Mr. Shotwell
to the People and Communities
of Central Oregon
RESOLUTION NO. 95-028

WHEREAS, Bob Shotwell serves as a national goodwill ambassador for LaPine and
Central Oregon; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Shotwell has given of his time, talent, and energy as a journalist to
chronicle the special people, places, and events in Central Oregon; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Shotwell led the effort to bring journalism classes to Central Oregon
Community College, and has shared his time, talent and experience with young people seeking
careers in journalism and helped to foster a love of writing among many students; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Shotwell has distinguished himself among his neighbors, friends, and
peers on a local, state, and national levels; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Shotwell has a lifetime tradition of service to others through our country's
armed forces and through his dedication to his community; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DESCHUTES
COUNTY, OREGON, as follows:
Section 1. That Deschutes County designates and proclaims Feburary 17, 1995 as
"Bob Shotwell Day" in Deschutes County in recognition of the exemplary citizenship, leadership,
and civic contributions Mr. Shotwell has made and continues to make to Central Oregon.
