DESCHUTES COUNTY, OREGON � A Resolution Declaring May 2, 1996 as Volunteer Appreciation Day in * -' Deschutes County, Oregon RESOLUTION NO. 96-041 WHEREAS, from early community barn -raising to contemporary community groups, one common trait is unique among the American people - the desire to help one's neighbor through volunteer service; and WHEREAS, this desire to help one's neighbor extends to thousands of persons in Deschutes County; and WHEREAS, volunteers working through their church, service clubs, business organization, non-profit agencies and government provide essential services to the citizens of Deschutes County; and WHEREAS, the quality of all our lives here in Central Oregon is enhanced by the volunteer community service of these persons; and WHEREAS, Deschutes County and the network of volunteer administrators recognize the significant role these community volunteers play; now, there, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Deschutes County, Oregon as follows: Section 1. The Board of County Commissioners hereby proclaim May 2, 1996, as Volunteer Appreciation Day in honor of these dedicated persons who have contributed so much to our community and residents through the volunteering of their time, talents and energy. 1 -RESOLUTION NO. 96-041 (05/01/96) MXROH MED MAY 1151996 Section 2.
