Deschutes County Budget for Fiscal Year
1996-97 and Modifying Appropriations.
RESOLUTION NO. 97-014
WHEREAS, the Deschutes County HealthyStart Prenatal Fund has additional resources
which were not ascertained at the time of the preparation of the 1996-97 budget which requires a
change in financial planning;
WHEREAS, these additional revenues must now be appropriated; and
WHEREAS, ORS 294.480 authorizes the adoption of a supplemental budget.
WHEREAS, Notice of Supplemental Budget Hearing was published in the Bulletin on
January 27, 1997. Now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
DESCHUTES COUNTY, OREGON, as follows:
Section 1. The Board of County Commissioners hereby adopts the supplemental budget
for fiscal year 1996-97 with the modifications as shown in Attachment "A."
Section 2. The Board of County Commissioners hereby appropriates for the fiscal year
beginning July 1, 1996, the amount for the purpose as follows:
Operating Contingency
$27,000
Section 3. That the Finance Director make the appropriate modifications to the budgeted
appropriations for the 1996-97 fiscal year.

Sub: Establishing a Contingency Line Item in Fund 41
Per our phone conversation I am requesting that the Board be requested to establish a
contingency fund in the HealthyStart budget for the amount of $27,000.
In FY 1996-97 beginning net working capitol (41-20-B101) was budgeted at $57,500. The actual
amount available is $32,477 over budget. Therefore, I would like to establish a contingency line
item in fund 41 in the amount of $27,000.
Once this line item is established I would like to transfer $12,000 to 41-20-2533 - contract
services. This transfer will provide the necessary "paper trail" to track this expenditure.
I would appreciate this item being on the Board agenda for January 22, 1997.
