ORDER NO. 97-031 WHEREAS, a final hearing regarding the formation of the LaPine Water District was held on February 3, 1997; and WHEREAS, a petition containing 52 verified signatures was filed by resident voters within the proposed district boundary, requiring an election; and, WHEREAS, no vote on a tax base is required since the district is proposed to be funded through revenues other than taxes levied by the proposed district; now, therefore, THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DESCHUTES COUNTY, OREGON, ORDERS as follows: Section 1. That an election be held for resident voters within the territory described in this section on May 20, 1997, to vote on the formation of the LaPine Water District, a district proposed to be formed for the purpose of providing domestic water for the core area of LaPine. The boundaries of the territory proposed to be included in the district are as set forth in the legal description and as depicted in the map attached hereto as Exhibits 1 and 2, respectively. The County Clerk shall include with the ballot for the election a map or other description of the boundaries of the proposed district in accordance with ORS 198.815(3). Section 2. That an election be held on the same date for the purpose of electing the five (5) at -large member Board of Directors of the District. Section 3. That notice of nominations for candidates for membership on the Board of the District be published on or before February 8, 1997, as provided for by ORS 255.075. Candidates for District Board positions must file with the County Elections Officer not later than March 20, 1997. Section 4.
