Wednesday, April 16, 1997
Acting Chair Robert L. Nipper called the Board of County
Commissioners meeting to order at 10: 00 a.m. County Commissioners
present were: Robert L. Nipper and Linda L. Swearingen. Also in
attendance were Mike Maier, County Administrator; Brad Chalfant,
Property Manager; Tom Blust, Public Works Director; Heidi Kennedy,
Planner; Sue Stoneman, Community Relations Specialist; and Dave
Peterson, Information Services Director.
CONVENE AS THE GOVERNING BODY OF 9-1-1 COUNTY SERVICE DISTRICT
1. APPROVAL OF WEEKLY ACCOUNTS PAYABLE VOUCHERS FOR THE 9-1-1
COUNTY SERVICE DISTRICT
Before the Governing Body was approval of the weekly accounts
payable vouchers for the 9-1-1 County Service District in the
amount of $110.45.

the week of April 13-19, 1997, to be Deschutes county Crime
Victims' Rights Week.
Patricia Moore reported this was Victims' Rights Week.

Agreement with the Oregon State Health Division.
Debra Attig reported this change addressed a request made by
the Health Department.

Before the Board was signature of two Dedication Acceptance
Deeds for Yucca Avenue.
Tom Blust reported these deeds were to clear up a right-of-way
issue. This was a small piece of roadway that was about one
quarter of mile long.

Before the Board was signature of a Lease renewal for office
space with the State of Oregon Department of Water Resources.
Brad reported this was a standard lease. The rate was $1.25
a square foot. He recommended approval for three years.

Before the Board was signature of a Settlement Agreement
regarding Schafer versus Deschutes County.
Brad Chalfant reported this was a piece of property that was
never dedicated as Marshall Avenue and access had been
disputed for a number of years. Property Management had tried
to settle with Mr. Schafer previously. Brad recommended
signature of the settlement agreement.

not need and the interest was lowered.
