SECTION 19.28.050, SETBACKS IN THE RS ZONE TO ALLOW FOR
FLEXIBILITY IN FRONT YARD SETBACKS
Before the Board was a public hearing on Ordinance no. 97-082,
amending Title 19, Section 19.28.050, Setbacks in the RS Zone,
to allow for flexibility in front yard setbacks.
Paul Blikstad provided a staff report.

Dave Leslie reported the changes were initiated by the
Sunriver Unincorporated Community project.
Chair Schlangen opened the public hearing.
Alan, representing Eagle Crest, stated the sign size was to
allow enough room to direct people to the correct location.
There being no further testimony, the public hearing was
closed.
Commissioner Nipper stated he would agree to a first reading
if the sign size was changed.
Commissioner Schlangen stated she had no problem with the sign
size.

responsive bid.

the new Deschutes County Fairgrounds site be

Before the Board was a decision of whether to hear an appeal
of A-97-12 for a conditional use for Eagle Crest.
Heidi Kennedy reported this appeal was by Oregon Department of
Transportation. George Read reported Commissioner Swearingen
had expressed an interest in hearing this issue on the record.
Commissioners Schlangen stated she wanted to hear it on the
record.
Commissioner Nipper felt the Board should hear it on the
record.
Heidi Kennedy reported they were on the 89th day. The public
hearing would be held during the first week of January.
