WHEREAS, pursuant to ORS 810.180 paragraph (8), Section(a), the Board of County
Commissioners as a road authority have been delegated authority by the Oregon Department of
Transportation designate reasonable and safe speeds on low volume or not hard surfaced County roads.
In the Board's judgment, to protect the safety of the public; and
WHEREAS, this action is based upon an engineering and traffic investigation; and
WHEREAS, Dyke Road lies outside the corporate limits of any city; and
WHEREAS, it appears that a safety necessity exists on Dyke Road; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DESCHUTES
COUNTY, OREGON as follows:
Section 1. The designated speed of 35 m.p.h. be assigned to all of Dyke Road from Meadow
Lane to Howard Lane.
Section 2. That the County Road official erect appropriate signing according to MUTCD
(Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices) requirements giving notice of the restriction.
Section 3. That any previous order with respect to the designated speed for the above road
which is in conflict with the provisions of this order is hereby rescinded.

Road from Meadow Lane to Howard Lane Road in Deschutes County.
The investigation submitted by Deschutes County meets the criteria
adopted by the Oregon Department of Transportation when establishing
speed zones on low-volume roads.
When this speed zone is established, please submit a copy of the written
order to this office. A copy of this investigation will be retained in this
office and the second copy will be sent to our Region 4 office.

Regarding your request of January 28, 1 have enclosed the data obtained on the
remaining streets. The primary database used was ODOT's (through 1996). Others
included the 9-1-1 database (through 1997) and the Deschutes County Sheriffs
database (through 1996). Their information is included only if not found in ODOT.
