BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS' WORK SESSION
Monday, November 20, 2000
Chair Linda Swearingen opened the meeting at 10:01 a.m.
Present were Commissioners Linda Swearingen, Tom DeWolf and Dennis Luke.
Also present were Gary Judd and Tom Blust, Road Department; Steve Jorgensen,
Doreen Blome , Geralyn Haas and George Read of Community Development; and
Ted Schassberger, Commissioners' Office. Also in attendance were Jim
Bonnarens, Property Management; Judy Sumners, Risk Management; Rick Isham,
Legal Counsel, Sue Brewster, Sheriffs Office; Barney Lerten, Media; and Mike
Daly and three other citizens.
1. CITIZEN INPUT:
There was none offered.
9. Before the Board was Discussion and Consideration of an Indemnity
Agreement for the La Pine Truckers' Light Parade, Scheduled for
December 9, 2000.
Judy Sumners explained that all of the requirements have been met for this
annual event, and all appropriate documents have been signed.
LUKE: I move approval.

Monday, November 20, 2000 Quality Services Performed with Pride
11. Before the Board was Discussion and Consideration of Signature of
Order No. 2000-120, Authorizing the Sale of County -owned Real
Property (Located in Fremont Canyon near Sisters).
Jim Bonnarens explained that the minimum bid for the property was set at
$311,000; and the highest bid was $356,000, with another bid at $342,000.
Both were adjoining property owners. He further stated this was a cash
offer, which is a requirement for the Fremont Canyon property. They are
working out the details for a conditional use permit for a residence.
DEWOLF: I move approval of the offer for $356,000.
LUKE: Second.
VOTE: LUKE: Aye.
DEWOLF: Yes.
SWEARINGEN: Chair votes aye.
12. ADDITIONS TO AGENDA:
Before the Board was Discussion and Consideration of Signature of
Resolution No. 2000-083, Authorizing a Loan of $648,000 from the
Community Development Reserve Fund to the La Pine New
Neighborhood Fund for the Purchase of BLM Land.
George Read indicated that he learned this check is due tomorrow, as
required by the Bureau of Land Management. He stated the check has been
prepared but approval of the Board is necessary.
DEWOLF: Move approval.
SWEARINGEN: Second.
VOTE: LUKE: Aye.
DEWOLF: Yes.
SWEARINGEN: Chair votes aye.
Being no further input, Chair Linda Swearingen adjourned the meeting at 10:35
a.m.
