DESCHUTES COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
MONDAY, FEBRUARY 5, 2001
Vice Chair Mike Daly opened the meeting at 10:00 a.m.
Present were Commissioners Dennis Luke and Mike Daly; Commissioner Tom
De Wolf was excused. Also present were Deevy Holcomb, Juvenile Community
Justice; Jim Bonnarens, Property Management; George Read, Tom Anderson,
Geralyn Haas and Damian Syrnyk, Community Development; Mike Maier, County
Administrator; Ricklsham, Legal Counsel; and Jenny Scanlon, Commissioners'
Office. In addition, one media representative was in attendance. No citizens were
present.
1. Before the Board was Citizen Input.
None was offered.
4. Before the Board was a Discussion and Consideration of Signature of a
Letter Approving the 2001-2003 Juvenile Crime Prevention Update.
Deevy Holcomb, representing the Commission on Children and Families and the
Juvenile Community Justice Department, gave a brief explanation of the nature
of the letter to be signed. She said that the program began in 1998 to address the
challenge of high-risk juvenile crime prevention. Governor Kitzhaber proposes
to extend this program to 2003, and Deschutes County needs to present its update
as required.
