DESCHUTES COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Monday, April 2, 2001
Chair Tom De Wolf brought the meeting to order at 10:05 a.m.
Present were Commissioners Tom De Wolf and Dennis Luke; Commissioner Mike
Daly was excused. Also present were Mike Maier, County Administrator; George
Read, Kevin Harrison and Damian Syrnyk, Community Development; Mark Amberg
and Laurie Craghead, Legal Counsel; Jim Bonnarens, Property Management; Tom
Blust and George Kolb, Road Department; Ted Schassberger, Commissioners'
Office; Timm Schimke, Solid Waste; Sue Brewster, Sheriff's Office; Dennis Maloney
and Kelley Jacobs; several citizens and one media representative.
1. Before the Board was Citizen Input.
No citizen input was offered.
11. Before the Board was Discussion and Consideration of Signature of Order
No. 2001-038, Authorizing the Exchange of Real Property (Fremont
Canyon West Parcels) to Fund Projects (the New Neighborhood in La Pine,
the Proposed Archives Building, the New Human Services Building in
Bend, Rainbow House in Bend, and the.Becky Johnson Community Center
in Redmond).
Jim Bonnarens indicated that he is awaiting a final answer from the Division of
State Lands regarding easement requirements, but would like to list the property
and offer it for sale at this time. It would be sold contingent upon satisfactory
finalization of the easement requirements.

ADDITION TO AGENDA
Before the Board was Discussion and Consideration of Signature of a Real
Property Lease for Office Space in Madras for Jefferson County Probation
and Parole Services.
Sue Brewster indicated that this new lease is necessary because there are new
owners of this property. She further said that the term date has been set one year
earlier so the Sheriff's Office can determine at that time if the lease should be
continued.
LUKE: I move approval.
DEWOLF: Second.
VOTE: LUKE: Yes.
DEWOLF: Chair votes yes.
Being no further agenda items offered, Chair Tom De Wolf closed the meeting at
11:35 a.m.
