WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 2000-20, the City of Redmond has requested surrender of
jurisdiction of a portion of 9th Street and 5th Street located within the Redmond city limits, as set forth
in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and by this reference incorporated herein; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners finds that it is in the public interest to
surrender jurisdiction and accept the request set forth in Resolution No. 2000-20 of the City of
Redmond, dated the 9th day of May, 2000; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DESCHUTES
COUNTY, OREGON, ORDERS as follows:
Section 1. That effective as of 12:00 AM, April 27, 2001, the Board of County
Commissioners hereby surrenders jurisdiction of a portion of 9th Street and 5th Street in Resolution
No. 2000-20 of the City of Redmond, attached hereto as Exhibit "A", to the City of Redmond.
Section 2. From and after 12:00 AM, April 27, 2001, the road described in Exhibit "A" shall
be a City of Redmond street.

In the summer of 1998, the City of Redmond and Deschutes County entered into an
Urban Area Growth Boundary Management Agreement. Part of that Agreement was for
the City to request transfer of road jurisdiction when areas were annexed.
Attached is a copy of Resolution #2000-20 approved by the City Council on May 9,
2000 requesting that Deschutes County surrender jurisdiction of certain rights-of-way to
the City of Redmond in conjunction with the annexation of the attached parcels. The
rights-of-way descriptions can be found on Exhibit A of the Resolution.

REDMOND RESOLUTION
RESOLUTION NO. 2000-20
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF REDMOND REQUESTING THE
TRANSFER OF CERTAIN COUNTY RIGHTS-OF-WAY FROM DESCHUTES
COUNTY.
WHEREAS, the City Council has agreed to take jurisdiction of certain County
roads within the City limits; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to ORS 373.270(6), the City Council wishes to initiate
transfer of such jurisdiction to the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF REDMOND, OREGON, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City hereby requests that Deschutes County surrender
jurisdiction to the City of Redmond of certain County rights-of-way described in
Exhibit "A" attached hereto as of 12:00 AM, June 1, 2000.
Section 2. That the jurisdiction of Deschutes County over the rights-of-way
described in Section One hereof, and for the right-of-way improvements,
construction, and repair shall cease upon transfer of the property to the City of
Redmond.
