Unit 6, Parts I and II No Shooting District
and Setting a Hearing Date.
WHEREAS, a petition requesting annexation of certain territory to a restricted area pursuant to
Deschutes County Code section 9.08, referred to as the "Deschutes River Homesites, Unit 6, Parts I
and II No Shooting District" has been duly filed with the County.
WHEREAS, the Deschutes County Assessor has verified that the no shooting district petition to
annex was signed by no less than 100 percent of the owners of the contiguous lots included within the
proposed restricted area; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing is required to consider the petition and notice of that hearing must
be provided in accordance with ORS 198.857; now, therefore,
THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DESCHUTES COUNTY, OREGON, HEREBY
ORDERS as follows:
Section 1. That a hearing on the annexation petition be held on January 28, 2004, which petition may
be referred to as the Kaczmarek Annexation to the "Deschutes River Homesites, Unit 6, Parts I and II
No Shooting District." a copy of which petition is attached hereto as Exhibit "1" and by this reference
incorporated herein;

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF DESCHUTES COUNTY, OREGON
A public hearing regarding a proposed annexation of territory to the Deschutes River
Recreations Homesites, Unit 6, Parts I and II No Shooting District will be held on
January 28, 2004, at 10 a.m. in the Board of County Commissioners' Hearing Room,
1130 NW Harriman Street, Bend, Oregon.
The boundaries of the proposed annexation are as specified in Exhibit "A," attached
hereto and by this reference incorporated herein.
The purpose of the proposed annexation is to restrict the discharge of firearms for the
welfare and safety of the inhabitants of the proposed area to be annexed. All interested
persons may appear and be heard.
The meeting location is wheelchair accessible. For the deaf or hard of hearing, an
interpreter or assistive listening system will be provided with 48 hours notice. Materials
in alternate formats may be made available with 48 hours notice. To arrange for these

1. This Petition for Annexation is filed pursuant to ORS 198.705 to 198.955.
2. This annexation Petition affects only Deschutes County and the Deschutes River
Recreation Homesites, Unit 6, Parts I and 11 No Shooting District.
3. The principal act for the Deschutes River Recreation Homesites, Unit 6, Parts I and 11 is
Deschutes County Code, Chapter 9.08.
4. The territory that is subject to this Petition for Annexation is primaril inhabited
uninhabited (circle one). The attached petitions in support of this annexation are signed by land owners
in the territory proposed to be annexed as indicated opposite their respective signature.
5. It is requested that the proceedings be taken for the annexation of said territory to the
Deschutes River Recreation Homesites, Unit 6, Parts I and 11, Deschutes County, Oregon. A description
of the boundaries of the territory to be annexed is attached hereto and marked Exhibit "A." A map of the
boundaries of the territory to be annexed is attached hereto and marked Exhibit "B."
6. That said Petition has been signed by 100 percent of the land owners within the territory
