RESOLUTION NO. 83-040
WHEREAS, the Deschutes County Department of Public Works has
requested the Board of County Commissioners initiate proceedings
to improve a portion of Mathers Road by Resolution; and
WHEREAS, it appears that such road should be improved; and
WHEREAS, it appears that it is in the public interest that
the Public Works Department of Deschutes County, Oregon, perform
required engineering and surveying for this improvement; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
DESCHUTES COUNTY, OREGON, as follows:
Section 1. That proceedings be initiated to improve a
portion of Mathers Road to Deschutes County Local Road Standards
for the benefit of the area described as follows:
Beginning at the West quarter corner of Section 17,
Township 17 South, Range 12 East of the Willamette
Meridian, Deschutes County, Oregon; thence North 00°
00' 45" East along the West line of said Section 17 a
distance of 1317.14 feet; thence South 890 55' 49"
East 662.16 feet; thence North 000 01' 35" East
1257.46 feet; thence South 891 57' 23" East 662.44
feet; thence South 000 02' 26" West 1257.76 feet;
thence South 89° 55' 49 " East 225.09 feet; thence
North 341.88 feet; thence South 811 49' 18" East
641.52 feet; thence North 470 00' East 168.00 feet to
the Southwesterly right-of-way of O.B. Riley Road;

thence Southeasterly along said right-of-way 90 feet

point of beginning.
Section 2. That the dedicated road to be improved within the
district described in Section 1 of this Resolution is described as
follows:
That portion of Mathers Road from O.B. Riley Road for
approximately 1700 lineal feet to its terminus.
Section 3. Improvements to be made to the roadway within the
district include all or part of, but are not limited to, the
following:
1. Clearing and grubbing.
2. Subgrade preparation.
3. Placement of 4" aggregate base 32 feet wide.
4. Placement of 2" A.C. pavement - 24 feet wide.
5. Engineering, surveying, administration and planning,
construction of the proposed improvements, and any
related costs.
Section 4. The road to be improved as a result of this
Resolution shall be improved to County Local Road Standards.
Section 5. This Resolution shall hereby be referred to the
County Engineer for investigation of the proposed improvements in
accordance with ORS 371.625. The County Engineer may engage the
services of any qualified engineer for all or part of the inves-
tigation required under ORS 371.625.
