(action item)
Clean-up Month in Deschutes County. He also requested
that the Board allow the local garbage haulers to dump
trash free during one weekend. The garbage companies
will provide the bins to be placed in areas throughout
Bend and Redmond and the personnel and equipment needed
to haul it to the landfill. There will be eight dump
bin locations in Bend and two in Redmond. The City of
Sisters is also considering a similar program using
their personnel. They are also providing assistance to
seniors by piling brush and taking debris to the dumping
bins for those who request it.
MOTION: PRANTE moved that they declare the time from
March 15 to May 1 as Spring Clean-up '83 in
Deschutes County and that the Board waive the
fees for dumping brush and debris picked up
by the cities.
TUTTLE: Second.
VOTE: UNANIMOUS APPROVAL.
Discussion re-
Rick Isham, County Counsel, stated that his department
garding Land
had received a request from G.J. Bohneman to trade some
Exchange with
parcels owned by the county for some he owns in the same
G.J. Bohneman
area so that he can aggregate his lots which will create
a suitable building site. Because this could disperse
lots owned by the county which are now contiguous, Mr.
Isham recommended against proceeding with such a trade.
He suggested that these lots be put up for sale, giving
Mr. Bohneman an opportunity to purchase them outright.
MOTION: TUTTLE moved not to pursue the trade at this
time and put the lots up for sale on Land Sale.
PRANTE: Second.
VOTE: UNANIMOUS APPROVAL.
Mr. Isham stated that he would notify Mr. Bohneman of
this decision.
