Discussion re- Jay Turley, Assistant City Manager, presented the Board garding Spring with some information on Spring Clean-up Day, request- Clean-up Day ing that the Board proclaim March 15 to May 1 Spring (action item) Clean-up Month in Deschutes County. He also requested that the Board allow the local garbage haulers to dump trash free during one weekend. The garbage companies will provide the bins to be placed in areas throughout Bend and Redmond and the personnel and equipment needed to haul it to the landfill. There will be eight dump bin locations in Bend and two in Redmond. The City of Sisters is also considering a similar program using their personnel. They are also providing assistance to seniors by piling brush and taking debris to the dumping bins for those who request it. MOTION: PRANTE moved that they declare the time from March 15 to May 1 as Spring Clean-up '83 in Deschutes County and that the Board waive the fees for dumping brush and debris picked up by the cities. TUTTLE: Second. VOTE: UNANIMOUS APPROVAL. Discussion re- Rick Isham, County Counsel, stated that his department garding Land had received a request from G.J. Bohneman to trade some Exchange with parcels owned by the county for some he owns in the same G.J. Bohneman area so that he can aggregate his lots which will create a suitable building site. Because this could disperse lots owned by the county which are now contiguous, Mr. Isham recommended against proceeding with such a trade. He suggested that these lots be put up for sale, giving Mr. Bohneman an opportunity to purchase them outright. MOTION: TUTTLE moved not to pursue the trade at this time and put the lots up for sale on Land Sale. PRANTE: Second. VOTE: UNANIMOUS APPROVAL. Mr. Isham stated that he would notify Mr. Bohneman of this decision.
