Chairman Shepard called the meeting to order at 10:00 A.MCHULK

Amendments to Amendments to the Agenda were: (1) Bid Opening for
the Agenda Truck purchases; (2) Item #5.G., Personal Services
Contract for Russ Chase and Item #5.F, Subcontracts for
Mt-n9-al health will be heard Wednesday, September 8; and
(3) For Signature: Order Abandoning Improvement of
Klipple Acres LTD, also for Wednesday. Hearing no
objections, Chairman Shepard so amended the agenda.
Bid Openings Rick Isham, County Counsel, stated that they had re-
for Trucks ceived bids from five different automobile dealers. He
opened the first one which was from Robberson Ford Sales
in Rend. They submitted a bid on all five alternatives
as outlined in the bid specifications. On alternative
#1, they bid $7,989.91. On alternative #2, they said
$6,498.50. On alternative #3, the bid $6,498.50. On
alternative #4, they bid $12,997. On alternative #5,
they bid $20,986.91.
The next bid was from Kendall Datsun in Eugene. They
did not bid on the full-size truck, only the compact
size. They bid $5873 on alternative #2 and #3. They
bid $11,746 on alternative #4.
The next bid was cr_oin',Ientworth Chevrolet in Portland.
They only bid on the full-size truck in alternative #1,
and their bid was $7,990.
The next bid was from Thomas Sales an() Service in Bend.
They only bid on alternative #4, which was two compact
size trucks. Their bid was $11,000; a unit price of
$5,500.
The next bid was from Jim Smolich Motors. They only bid
on alternatiVe 14 Which was for two compact size trucks.
Their bid was for $12,318.28.
Mr. Isham stated that there was an add-on charged to
dealers outside a certain radius of Bend. He stated
that he would compute the additional charge on whatever
bids it was appropriate, and bring the final figures to
the Board at the next day's meeting. He noted that they
had either 10 or 21 days in which to award the bid.

ation that only half of the fee be refunded because of

MOTION: YOUNG moved that $50 be refunded.

Order 82-333 This order is for the transfer of $143,100 from the
Transferring Operating Contingency Road Fund for LID expenses, as
Funds previously discussed by the Board.
MOTION: YOUNG moved to adopt Order #82-333.

OLCC License Before the Board were five OLCC Liquor License Renewal
Renewals applications. All had been approved by the Sheriff's
Department and all had paid the filing fee to the Clerk.
The first was for Wickiup Junction, the second for
Sisters KOA, the third was for Hook, Line and Cheddar in
Sunriver, the fourth was for Kmart Corp., and the fifth
was for the Owl's Nest in Sunriver.

Other Staff/ Vern Frost, Tillicum Village, came forward. He stated
Public Con- that he was present to express his concern about the
cerns paving of American Lane. He stated that he had called
the Road Department and was told that it would not be
paved until. October or November. He stated that the
condition of the road now is not adequate for bicycle
traffic, which makes it difficult for the children in
their area to get to school. He asked that a higher
priority be placed on paving the road, so that the work
may be done sooner. He said that if they wait until
October or November, it may be further delayed because
o` snow, hlr. Hudson responded that it is the Road
Department's intention to pave the road after they are
through with their sealing program, which must be done
during warm weather. He stated that in two to three
weeks they should be able to start this paving project.
Being no further business at this time, Chairman Shepard recessed the
meeting until the next day.
