WHEREAS, on July 8, 1981, the Board of County Commissioners
of Deschutes County, Oregon, received the Engineer's proposed assess-
ments against each parcel of land for the improvement of roads in
Dry Canyon L.I.D.; and
WHEREAS, ORS 371.645 provides that the Board must set a
public hearing by order of the Board to hear objections to any such
proposed assessment; now, therefore,
THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DESCHUTES COUNTY,
OREGON, ORDERS as follows:
Section 1. That the Report of the Engineer, marked Exhibit
"A," attac e hereto and by this reference incorporated herein, is
hereby accepted, and that a public hearing for the purpose of hearing
objections to the proposed assessments shall be held on Tuesday,
July 21, 1981, at 10:00 A.M., in Conference Room A, Deschutes County
Courthouse Annex, Bend, Oregon.
Section 2. That the Director of Public Works, on behalf
of the Board o County Commissioners, mail written notice within
five days of the date of said hearing to the owners of the parcels
described in Exhibit"A," identifying the parcel, showing the pro-
posed assessment, and giving notice of the hearing scheduled in
Section 1 of this Order.
Section 3. That the written notice to be given in
Section 2 shall comply substantially with the form of notice marked
Exhibit "B," attached hereto and by this reference incorporated

Pursuant to ORS 371.645, I hereby ascertain the amount of assessment against
each parcel in the District for the improvement of the roads in Dry Canyon
L.I.D., more particularly described as follows:
Commencing at a 5/8" re-bar monumenting the NW 1/16 corner of Section
3 T.15S., R.12E.W.M., the Initial Point; thence N 00° 41' 59" W along the West
line of Government Lot 3 - 30.00 feet to the true POINT OF BEGINNING; thence
S 89 44 22 E parallel with the South line of Government Lot 3 - 1324.39
feet to the West line of Government Lot 2; thence S 89 o 44' 22" E parallel with the
South line of Government Lot 2 - 30.00 feet; thence N 00° 38' 12" W parallel with and
30.00 feet from the West line of Government Lot 2 in said Section 3 - 1273.89
feet to the South line of Section 34 T. 14S. R.12E W.M.; thence N 00° 38' 12" W -
0.36 feet; thence N 00° 07' 29" E parallel with and 30.00 feet East of the West
line of the SE 1/4 of said Section 34 - 2641.12 feet to the North line of
said SE 1/4; thence N 00° 07' 29" E parallel with the West line of the NE 1/4 of

centerline of a road from the East at Engineer's station 78+54.09 of Dry Canyon
L.I.D.; thence 235.17 feet along the arc of a 300.00 ft. radius curve left
forming a deflection angle of 44° 54' 51" and a long chord bearing N 67° 14' 47" W
- 229.19 feet to the end of said curve on North line of the NW 1/4 of said
Section 34, noting that the Point of Intersection of the previous curve is a
3/4" pipe monumenting the North 1/4 corner of said Section 34; thence N 89°
42' 12" W along the North line of said NW 1/4 - 2368.64 feet to a 3/4" pipe monu-
menting the Northwest corner of said Section 34; thence S 89° 38' 05" W along the
North line of the NE 1/4 of the NE 1/4 of said Section 33 - 970.38 feet to the
beginning of a curve; thence 73.43 feet along the arc of a 300.00 ft. radius curve
right forming a deflection angle of 14° oil 27" and a long chord bearing N 83 21'
11" W - 73.25 feet to the end of said curve; thence N 760 20' 28W o
the beginning of a curve; thence 73.43 feet along the arc of a 300.00 ft. radius to
curve left forming a deflection angle of 14° 01'27" and a long chord bearing N83°
21' 11" W - 73.25 feet; thence S 89° 38' 05" W garallel with and 30.00 feet North
from said North line - 130.00 feet; thence S 00 08' 36" W parallel with and
30.00 feet East from the West line of said NE 1/4 NE 1/4 - 1338.64 feet to the
South line of said NE 1/4 NE 1/4 and the termination of this centerline, AND ALSO

described centerline of a 60.00 feet wide road being 30.00 feet each side of
centerline, more particularly described as follows: commencing at a 3/4"
pipe monumenting the North 1/4 corner of Section 34 T.14S.,R.12E.W.M., the Initial
Point; thence S890 42'12"E along the North line of the NE 1/4 of said Section 34 -
93.63 feet to a point on the centerline of the road described as Parcel #2 of
a deed recorded in County Deeds Volume 310 Page 955 and the true POINT OF BEGINNING;
thence 177.49 feet along the arc of a 225.562 ft. radius curve left forming a
deflection angle of 45°05'10" and a long chord bearing S670 45'13"W - 172.95 feet
to the end of said curve; thence S450 12'39"W - 30.00 feet to the above described
centerline at Dry Canyon L.I.D. Engineer's station 78+54.09 in a curve, the radius
point of which bears S45°12'39"W - 300.00 feet thus ending this centerline. ALSO:
A strip of land 60.00 feet wide, being 30.00 feet on each side of the following
described centerline: Beginning at a point 30.00 feet Northerly of and 30.00 feet
Easterly of the Southwest corner of Government Lot 2 of Section 3, Township 15
South, Range 12 East of the Willamette Meridian; thence in a Northeasterly direction
along the centerline of A.J. Warren Road as built; 100 feet more or less. ALSO:
A strip of land 60.00 feet wide, being 30.00 feet on each side of the following
described centerline: Beginning at a point 30.00 feet Northerly of and 30.00 feet
Easterly of the Northwest corner of the NE 1/4 of the NE 1/4 of Section 33, T14,S,
R12,E,W.M.; thence Westerly along a line parallel with and 30.00 feet Northerly of the
North line of the NE 1/4 of said Section 33-100' more or less, as shown on Exhibit
1, attached hereto and by this reference incorporated herein.
The total cost of the improvement is $195,500.00. This is based on the bid of the
mow bidder for the project and the estimated cost of engineering and administration.
My estimate was $308,000.00.
This is $112,500.00 under the estimate.

The Board of County Commissioners has ordered a hearing regarding
the road improvement affecting the above tax lot on Tuesday,
July 21, 1981, in Conference Room A, Deschutes County Courthouse
Annex, Bend, Oregon, at 10:00 A.M., for the purpose of hearing
objections to the assessments fixed in the Engineer's Report of
the road improvement abutting your property.
The proposed assessment for this parcel is shown above.
After this hearing, the Board will certify the assessments. When
the assessments are fixed, you will have until Monday, August 24,
1981, to apply to Day your assessment in installments. If you do
not apply to pay in installments, the total amount of the assessment
will be due and payable. An application will be mailed after the
assessment is fixed.
