40-641-Resolution No. 81-073 Recorded 10/13/1981aILL BEFORE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DESCHUTES COUNTY, OREGON A Resolution Exempting a ) F' Contract for a Used 1967 ) Caterpillar Tractor Scraper ) from Competitive Bidding. ) r 1981 ROSEM4RY pATT RESOLUTION NO. 81-073 PESCNUTES COVNTERSON Y CLERK WHEREAS, the Public Works Department has surveyed the availability of new and used equipment for which capital expenditures were budgeted in the 1981-82 budget; and WHEREAS, it appearing that market conditions enhance the cost savings available to the County by the purchase of used equipment; and WHEREAS, used equipment of the nature used by the Public Works Department is unique; and WHEREAS, a lack of bids under such circumstances will not result in favoritism or substantially diminish competition in awarding the contract for a used piece of equipment; and WHEREAS, the exemption from competitive bidding will result in a substantial cost savings, since 1967 Caterpillar Tractor Scrapers in the condition and at the price offered are not otherwise available, and similar used equipment in like condition is at a substantially higher price; and WHEREAS, it appearing appropriate to exempt from competitive bidding the purchase of one used 1967 Caterpillar Tractor Scraper, Model Number SN2341007, for $37,500.00, F.O.B. Redmond, Oregon; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DESCHUTES COUNTY, OREGON, as follows: Section 1. That exemption from the requirements of County Ordinance No. 203-8 be granted for the purpose of purchasing one used 1967 Caterpillar Tractor Scraper, Model Number SN2341007, for $37,500.00, F.O.B. Redmond, Oregon. Section 2. That the Director of Public Works is authorized to enter into an acceptable lease -purchase arrangement for the purchase of said equipment.
