WHEREAS, on the 22nd day of Se tember , 1980, the
Board of County Commissioners heard testimony rom Sally Valentine,
owner of the property known as 52598 Antler Lane, La Pine, Oregon;
and
WHEREAS, on that same date, a number of concerned
residents who live in the vicinity of this property also submitted
information and gave testimony to the Board of County Commissioners
regarding the use of the property; and
WHEREAS, on January 6, 1981, Sally Valentine appeared
before the Board and indicated that the prior use of the property
by Hammack Trucking Company had been discontinued; and
WHEREAS, Sally Valentine requested the Board of County
Commissioners give her its opinion of the extent of the prior non-
conforming use which was established on the property prior to
zoning the property for residential use; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners, in consider-
ing the information available to it, agreed to indicate its
opinion as to the extent of the nonconforming use that was
established on the property; now, therefore,
THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DESCHUTES COUNTY,
OREGON, ORDERS as follows:
Section 1. That a nonconforming use exists on the
property known as 52598 Antler Lane, La Pine, Oregon.
Section 2. That the nonconforming use was established
prior to the property being zoned residential.
Section 3. That the pre-existing nonconforming use
consists o the following:
A. The present building, which is approximately
2054 square feet in size.
B. A commercial automotive and truck repair shop.
C. A one-man operation with occasional help.

D. Occasional welding and small engine repair.
E. Limited storage.
Section 4. The scope of the pre-existing nonconforming
use recognized and considered in accordance with Sections 1 through
3 of this Order, is an expression of an opinion of the Board of
County Commissioners relating to its findings of the said use based
on the information available to it in conjunction with its review.
