QUESTION FOR A LEVY Shall Deschutes County levy $835,237.00 outside the constitutional limitation for County operations during 1980-81? PURPOSE This levy is to provide partial funding for maintaining operation of all County Departments and functions. EXPLANATION This levy would provide partial funding for all County agencies during the 1980-81 fiscal year. It would furnish 73% of the proposed County Library budget; 55% of the proposed budget for disposal of solid waste within Deschutes County; and 3% of the proposed General Fund budget for all other County functions. As required by State statute contained within HB 2540 passed by the 1979 Legislature, the total levy request is submitted in two ballot questions. It would furnish 27% of the proposed County Library budget; 45% of the proposed budget for disposal of solid waste within Deschutes County; and 30% of the proposed General Fund budget for all other County functions. As required by State statute, contained within HB 2540 passed by the 1979 Legislature, the total levy request is submitted in two ballot questions. If this measure is approved, $2,234,495.00 of taxes levied will be totally financed by local taxpayers without any partial State payment. Yes No
