29-49-Order Recorded 9/20/1978VOL 29 PAGE 49,E IN THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS IN THE STATE OF OREGON FOR THE COUNTY OF DESCHUTES In the Matter of File No. Z-78-31 Zone Change Request from R-1, single family residential to C-2, General Commercial O R D E R This matter coming before the Board of Commissioners upon the Hearings Officer 's recommendations, who held a public hearing on this issue, June 27, 1978, and recommended approval, And it further appearing to the Board upon reviewing the Hearings Officer record in the matter that the following findings of fact were established: 1. The Bend Area General Plan designates the site as being within a Development Alternative area to be developed to multi-family densities as community facilities are available, primarily water and sewer. This request would therefore amend the map designation to highway commercial as well as change the zone to C-2. 2. The applicant discussed at length why there is a need for this facility in this area and why other sites were not suitable for a retail lumber yard. The need would also likely be better served because of the relocation of the Copeland Lumber Yard away from the present downtown location where parking and access are major problems. The County deeming this action to be in the public interest, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that the zoning of the following described property be changed from R-1 to C-2 as shown on the attached map, South side of Hayes Ave, approx. 800 feet West of Hwy. 97 or more specifically tax lot 402 and 600, T18S, R12E, Section 8AA. va y 29 PAGE 50 Page 2.
