This matter coming before the Board of County Commissioners
on an appeal filed by Mr. & Mrs. William Elrod,which the
Planning Commission approved, at a public hearing held
May 14, 1978, and recommended approval, subject to the
following findings of fact established:
1. The rail sidings on the Westerly side of the railroad
track give the use of the property on the East side of the
track for M-2 use would have adverse effect with noise and heavy
traffic to the residents that reside on the East of Deschutes
Market Road.
2. Industrial zoned property should have a buffer zone. The
railroad tracks on the East serve as a buffer zone for the
industrial area.
3. Sufficient land lies West of the railroad tracks and East
of Hwy. 97 to be zoned M-1 for the industrial needs of the
area.
The County deeming this action to be in the public interest;
IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that the zoning of the following described
property be changed from A-1 to M-1, to that portion of the
application lying West of the railroad tracks
Located East of Deschutes Junction and South of the
intersection of Deschutes Market Road and the railroad,
portion of Section 26, T16S, R12E, approx. 60 acres.
