29-557-Resolution Recorded 12/20/1978IN THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS In the Matter of Setting Election Date for the Board of Directors for Central Oregon Public Utility District OF THE STATE OF OREGON FOR THE COUNTY OF DESCHUTES R E S O L U T I O N VOL 29 FACE 55'7 WHEREAS, the Central Oregon Peoples Utility District was formed by the people of Deschutes, Jefferson and Crook counties November 5, 1940; and WHEREAS, the cost of electrical power from private utilities in Central Oregon is exhorbitantly high; and WHEREAS, P.U.D.'s can buy Bonneville and other public power at rates lower than the private utility districts; and WHEREAS, the possibility exists that the Central Oregon P.U.D. could buy public power and distribute this power through the private utility companies, thereby lowering the electrical rates of the central Oregon rate payers; and WHEREAS, there is only one person still active on the Board of Directors, and WHEREAS, there exists funds in the Central Oregon Public Utility District in an account in a Madras bank; and WHEREAS, Deschutes County having the greater portion of assessed value in the District has jurisdiction of the District; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: 1. An election be set for May 22, 1979 for the election of a new Board of Directors for Central Oregon Public Utility District. 2. That the new Board of Directors transfer district funds to a banking institution in Deschutes County. 3. That all accounting and audits due the State of Oregon be completed by June 30, 1979. 4.
