Overtime Pay. It is the policy of the county to reduce to minimum the

necessity for overtime work. Except for emergency conditions, appointing
powers must obtain prior approval from the Board before overtime is to
be worked. The Board shall determine what constitutes an emergency.
(a) Definition of Overtime. Overtime shall be considered as time
worked in excess of the regularly scheduled work day or work week
for eligible classifications in accordance with state statutes.
(b) Compensation. Compensation for overtime normally will be compensatory
time off at the rate of time and one-half. Where conditions of
employment prevent the taking of compensatory time off, cash
compensation at the rate of time and one-half shall be provided.
The salary conversion table contained in the compensation plan
shall be used as the basis for computing payment for overtime.
Compensatory time off for approved overtime worked must be taken
