27-194-Resolution Recorded 5/19/1978In the Matter ) of ) Amendment to ) Deschutes County ) Personnel Rules ) IN THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF THE STATE OF OREGON FOR THE COUNTY OF DESCHUTES R E S O L U T I O N va 27 % 1,94 WHEREAS, the Deschutes County Commissioners feel it necessary to make changes in the Exemptions to Overtime Pay portion of the Personnel Rules; WHEREAS, the Personnel Rules must be changed to reflect this; THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Deschutes County Board of Commissioners amends the Personnel Rules as adopted on June 25, 1973, Section 3.53 Exemptions to Overtime to read: The following professional, supervisory or technical classifications are exempted from overtime: 1020 1210 2110 1110 1305 2210 1120 1310 2212 1135 2008 2310 1208 2010 2315 2411 3015 3432 2420 3207 3510 2430 3312 3601 3009 3420 3603 3010 3430 4210 4213 In no event shall compensatory time off accrue beyond a maximum of 40 hours. DATED this 19th day of May, 1978. BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ''VOL 27 mw 195 ~t 3.52 Overtime Pay. It is the policy of the county to reduce to minimum the � necessity for overtime work. Except for emergency conditions, appointing powers must obtain prior approval from the Board before overtime is to be worked. The Board shall determine what constitutes an emergency. (a) Definition of Overtime. Overtime shall be considered as time worked in excess of the regularly scheduled work day or work week for eligible classifications in accordance with state statutes. (b) Compensation. Compensation for overtime normally will be compensatory time off at the rate of time and one-half. Where conditions of employment prevent the taking of compensatory time off, cash compensation at the rate of time and one-half shall be provided. The salary conversion table contained in the compensation plan shall be used as the basis for computing payment for overtime. Compensatory time off for approved overtime worked must be taken within 180 days of the date such overtime was earned. In no event shall compensatory time off accrue beyond a maximum of 40 hours. Work performed on holidays which fall within the regular work schedule shall be considered as overtime work and the employees who work on such holidays shall be granted time off or compensation on the basis of time and one-half for the hours worked in addition to their regular holiday pay. If the holiday falls on Sunday, employees not required to work on the holiday shall receive the suceeding Monday as a paid holiday. rev. 5/19/78--
