RESOLUTION
VOL 23 MAN
A Resolution indicating that the Deschutes County Commission
indicated its concurrence with the City of Bend, Oregon, having the nec-
essary legal, financial, institutional, and managerial resources, and the
City intends to construct, operate, and maintain certain proposed treat-
ment works if such works are approved and funded by the State and Federal
Governments.
WHEREAS, the City of Bend possesses the necessary legal, financial,
institutional, and managerial resources to construct, operate and maintain
sewage treatment works and related facilities; and
WHEREAS, the existing collection, treatment and disposal facilities
do not meet current State and Federal requirements; and
WHEREAS, the recently completed facility planning report, titled
Sewerage Facilities Plan - City of Bend - Volume One and Two, prepared in
accordance with the Final Construction Grant Regulations, 40 CFR, Part 35,
Subpart E, dated February 11, 1974, recommends certain improvements to the
Bend Urban Area collection, treatment and disposal facilities will satisy
State and Federal requirements; and
WHEREAS, the facility planning report, is in accordance with the
Bend Urban Area Comprehensive Plan adopted June 2, 1976 and the Statewide
Goals and Guidelines;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Deschutes County Commission
indicates its concurrence with the proposed recommended facilities in the
referenced planning report, incorporating drill holes for effluent disposal
when the irrigation farm is inoperable, and the City of Bends intent to
construct, operate, and maintain such proposed facilities in accordance
with County, State and Federal requirements, if said facilities are approved
and funded by the State and the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency.
