This matter coming before the County Board of Commissioners upon the Planning
Commission's recommendation, who held a public hearing on this issue, February 11,
1976, and unanimously recommended approval, and,
The County Commission deeming this action to be in the public interest and
consistent with the Comprehensive Plan for Deschutes County,
IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that the following amendment be adopted:
Deschutes County Zoning Ordinance No. PL-5:
Article I. Introductory Provisions
Section 1.030 Definitions Existing:
5. DWELLING, MULTI-FAMILY: A building or portion thereof, designed for
occupancy by three or more families living independently of each other.
Change as follows:
5. DWELLING: A building or portion thereof designed exclusively for residential
occupancy, including single family, two family and multiple family dwellings,
but not including hotels, boarding houses, lodging houses, house trailers,
or mobile homes.
Seciton 1.030 Definitions Existing:
37. MOBILE HOME: "Mobile Home" means a vehicle or structure constructed for
movement on the public highways, that has sleeping, cooking and plumbing
facilities, is intended for human occupancy and is being used for residential
purposes.
Change as follows:
37. MOBILE HOME: A detached single family dwelling unit with all of the following
characteristics:
(a) Designed for long term occupancy, and containing sleeping accommodations,
flush toilet, a tub or showerbath, kitchen facilities, with plumbing
and electrical connections provided for attachment to outside systems.
(b) Designed to be transported after fabrication on its own wheels, or
on flatbed or other trailers or detachable wheels.
(c) Arriving at the site where it is to be occupied as a dwelling complete,
ready for occupancy except for minor and incidental unpacking and
assembly operations, location on foundation supports, connection to
utilities, and the like.
(d) Does not conform to the Oregon State Structural Code as defined in
ORS 456.750, subsection 9, or standards for prefabricated structures
as defined in ORS 456.750, subsection 6.
