This matter coming before the County Commission upon the Planning
Commission's recommendation, who held a public hearing on this issue,
February 11, 1976, and unanimously recommended approval,
And it appearing to the Board upon reviewing the Planning Commission
record in this matter that the following facts were established:
1. The zone change is consistent with the Comprehensive Plan which encourages
the use of Planned Unit Development in residential areas to provide
flexibility in the design and development, pursuant to Section 4.010 of
County Ordinance No. PL-5.
2. The property in question is adjacent to and an extension of an existing
Planned Unit Development.
3. Due to the adjacent development and surrounding property conditions, a
Planned Unit Development would be the most logical extension of land use
patterns and would best satisfy the public need for Suburban Residential
development in this area.
4. The Comprehensive Plan for Deschutes County as well as the housing report
published by the State Department of Housing identifies this area as having
a shortage of housing which satisfies the question of public need.
And if further appearing to the Board that these facts support the proposed
zone change, and,
The County Commission deeming this action to be in the public interest,
IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that the zoning of the following described property
be changed from A-1, Exclusive Agricultural, to SR-1, Suburban Residential as
shown on the attached map and described as follows:
A parcel of land lying within the S 1/2 of the SW 1/4 of Section 17,
and the N 1/2 of the NW 1/4 of Section 20, all in Township 17 South,
Range 12 East, tax lot 200 and a portion of tax lot 1400 lying between
DCM1 Canal and the Deschutes River.
Done by the order of the Board of Commissioners this 3rd day of March, 1976,
to become effective immediately.
