This matter coming before the County Commission upon the
Planning Commission's recommendation who held a public hearing
on this issue, March 5, 1975, and unanimously recommended approval,
and
The County Commission deeming this action to be in the
public interest and consistent with the Comprehensive Plan for
Deschutes County,
IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that the following amendment to
provide for plant nurseries be adopted:
Deschutes County Zoning Ordinance No. Pl-5,
I. Section 1.030 Definitions.
Add new as fol ows :
Plant Nursery: A place where young trees or other plants are
raised for experimental purposes, for transplanting, or for sale.
II. Section 3.015 Conditional Uses Permitted. (R-1 Zone)
Add new as follows:
7. Plant nursery and limited retail sale of incidental supplies
basic to the propagation of plant materials.
III. Section 3.115 Conditional Uses Permitted. (SR -1 Zone)
Add new as follows:
6. Plant nursery and limited retail sale of incidental supplies
basic to the propagation of plant materials.
IV. Section 3.155 Conditional Uses Permitted. (RR -1 Zone)
Add new as follows:
6. Plant nursery and limited retail sale of incidental supplies
basic to the propagation of plant materials.
V. Section 3.215 Conditional Uses Permitted. (A-1 Zone)

Section 7.050 Standards Governing Conditional Uses.
Add new as follows:
9. Plantnu�rsery�. Upon submittal of the application for a
conditional use, a site development plan shall be required.
Construction and development of the site shall conform to
the plans as approved by the Planning Commission as follows:
1. The traffic carrying capacity of affected streets shall
be considered.
2. In the R-1, SR -1, A-1 and RR -1 zones, the Planning
Commission shall prohibit or limit the amount of retail
supplies to only those incidental uses related to land-
scaping and gardening. The amount of retail materials
shall be limited to that specified on the site plan
approved by the Planning Commission.
3. Exterior storage of garden and maintenance materials
and equipment and all other supplies or items except
plants shall not be permitted. Said items shall be
stored within a totally enclosed structure.
4. The Planning Commission may require:
a. additional setbacks.
b. Additional off-street parking. All public parking
and access ways shall be improved with A.C. or .09
oil matt.
c. Additional screening, fencing and/or landscaping.
d. Limitations on signs or lighting.
e. Any other conditions or limitations that are con-
sidered necessary to achieve the purpose of this
ordinance.
Done by order of the Board of Commissioners this 19 day of March,
1975, to become effective immediately.
