19-962-Resolution Recorded 3/28/1975IN THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS VOL In the Matter of Amendment to Personnel Rules as Adopted on June 25, 1973 OF THE STATE OF OREGON FOR THE COUNTY OF DESCHUTES RESOLUTION 19 FAQ= WHEREAS, The Deschutes County Board of Commissioners feel it necessary to change the eligibility for salary increase for new County employees, and WHEREAS, The Eligibility for Salary Increase as stated in the Personnel Rules must be changed to reflect this; THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED That the Deschutes County Board of Commissioners amends the Personnel Rules as adopted June 25, 1973, Section 3.35 Eligibility for Salary Increase to read:. If a cost of living increase is approved, all employees shall be eligible for the increase. A newly hired employee shall be eligible for a merit increase (not to exceed 2 steps or 5%) upon the successful completion of his trial service period. DATED This 28th day of March, 1975 BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS CH AT R A COMMISSIONER COMMISSIONE VOL 19 PAi:l:963 This increase can be applied in one of two ways: ( a ) escalating Schedule I of the pay plan by whatever percentage approved and moving each employee to the next highest step; or (b) using the existing Schedule I of the pay plan, move all employees to step in the range that closely approximates the percentage approved. 3.33 Morit Increases. In addition to cost of living increases and if funds are available, employees are eligible for merit increases providing their per- formance has met or exceeded performance standards established by the Board and appointing powers. Normal increases can range from zero (Oa) to 2 steps (5N). 3.34 Budgeting for Salary Increases. Each appointing power shall determine what subordinates will receive a merit increase and the amount of the increase. • When submitting the department budget to the Board, each department shall indicate by approved range and step number in that range the merit increase for each employee in the department. The Board shall then determine what cost of livinq increase, if any, wail de applied -to all employee's salary. 3.35 Eligibility for Salary Increase. The entrance pay rate shall be the minimum rate in the pay range prescribed for the class.
